Volleyball Recap: Coastal Academy's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Coastal Academy lost against Escondido Charter back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Stingrays lost 3-0 to the Tigers.

While Coastal Academy ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.

Cobyn Palmer paced Coastal Academy's offense, picking up 15 kills. Palmer got some help from Cole Sulouff and his 20 assists. Jack Hough controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Escondido Charter can attribute much of their success to Colin Goss, who had five digs and two aces. That's the most digs Goss has posted over his last nine contests.

Coastal Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-12. As for Escondido Charter, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-11.

Looking ahead, Coastal Academy will challenge Orange Glen at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Escondido Charter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Classical Academy on the 25th.
