Baseball Game Preview: Cross Roads Bobcats vs. LaPoynor Flyers

For the second straight game, Cross Roads will face off against LaPoynor. The Bobcats will venture away from home to face off against the Flyers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cross Roads has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight defeats, while LaPoynor will come in with three straight wins.

Cross Roads came up short against LaPoynor on Tuesday, falling 11-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by exactly seven runs.

For LaPoynor's part, the team relied heavily on David Williams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Williams is becoming a predictor of the Flyers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Case Partridge, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact: LaPoynor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cross Roads' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for LaPoynor, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
