Pasco is 9-1 against Zephyrhills since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates will challenge the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Pasco had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fivay on Tuesday. The Pirates put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won five in a row.
Shalyn Carter was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Harris, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Pasco always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .704. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Zephyrhills had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Falcons.
Hannah Wadyka was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, Zephyrhills got a massive performance out of Cali Sisto, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Melanie Moreno was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Zephyrhills' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14-1. As for Pasco, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
Pasco skirted past Zephyrhills 6-4 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
