Volleyball Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sandalwood Saints, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-9, 25-8.

Despite the defeat, Englewood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Phoenix Kimura had 15 digs and three aces.

Sandalwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naraiya Thompson, who had five kills and two aces.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sandalwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Englewood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Stanton on the 27th. As for Sandalwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Baldwin on the 28th.
