Basketball Recap: Southwest Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Southwest hadn't done well against East Newton recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Southwest Trojans came out on top in a nail-biter against the East Newton Patriots, sneaking past 51-49. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Patriots back in December of 2024, they had to take a 48-40 defeat.

Southwest is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for East Newton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Southwest will be playing at home against Wheaton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest is facing Wheaton at the right time seeing as Wheaton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. East Newton has already played their next contest (against Verona), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
