Baseball Game Preview: Sault Area Blue Devils vs. Gaylord Blue Devils

Sault Area is 2-8 against Gaylord since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Sault Area will square off against Gaylord at 4:00 p.m. The last three games Sault Area has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Sault Area had just enough and edged out Frankfort 5-4. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Gaylord came up short against St. Francis on Monday, falling 9-2.

Zayden Mullins made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

Sault Area's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Gaylord, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Sault Area couldn't quite get it done against Gaylord in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 4-1. Can Sault Area avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
