Basketball Recap: Somerset Academy - Canyons Takes a Loss

Somerset Academy - Canyons extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They fell 65-54 to the Seminole Ridge Hawks. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

As for Seminole Ridge, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

Seminole Ridge was led to victory by Jacob Green and Matthew Wall. Green shot 60% from the field to rack up 22 points and four steals, while Wall went 7-for-13 on his way to 23 points and eight boards. Those four steals gave Green a new career-high. Harper Colp was another key player, putting up two points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Coming up, Somerset Academy - Canyons and Park Vista will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Seminole Ridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Santaluces at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
