Softball Recap: Steelville Cardinals vs. Central Rebels
After flying high against Licking on April 8th, Steelville came back down to earth. The Steelville Cardinals fell just short of the Central Rebels by a score of 11-10 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Steelville of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.
Abby Kreitner was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Marley Eilert was another key contributor, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
On Central's side, Kaydence Cosby was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsie Politte, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, a triple, and a stolen base.
