Laurel extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jermaine Taylor. The Laurel Spartans breezed by the Northwestern Wildcats to the tune of 92-56 on Thursday thanks in part to Taylor, who went 11 of 20 en route to 30 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024.

Aiden Lee was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 16 points and six boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

Laurel's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Northwestern, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Laurel wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 84-81 defeat against Wise on the 27th. Northwestern has also already played their next contest, a 91-43 loss against Bowie on the 27th.
