Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Bishop Hartley's Winning Streak

Bishop Hartley and Louisville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Bishop Hartley had to settle for second. They fell 52-45 to the Louisville Leopards. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

It was another big night for Brayden Gross, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds for Louisville. Gross is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last five games he's played. Tate Aljancic was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds.

With the defeat, Bishop Hartley broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for Louisville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.
