Volleyball Recap: Risco Extends Winning Streak to Four

Risco waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Richland Rebels. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Risco never let Richland on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-15, 25-17.

Risco was led to victory by Lorelai Smith and Leighton Calvert. Smith had 30 assists and four digs, while Calvert had eight digs and two aces. Smith is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

They weren't the only good server: Risco was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They are 9-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Risco's win bumped their record up to 10-6-1. As for Richland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Risco will square off against Southland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richland, they will take on Bernie in a tournament on Thursday.
