Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Lebanon County Raiders vs. Octorara Area Braves

The Eastern Lebanon County Raiders will face off against the Octorara Area Braves at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Neither Eastern Lebanon County nor Octorara Area posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Eastern Lebanon County's last matchup with Manheim Central could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Wednesday. The Raiders came up short against the Barons, falling 8-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Eastern Lebanon County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Octorara Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pequea Valley.

Octorara Area's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Eastern Lebanon County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Eastern Lebanon County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Octorara Area struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Eastern Lebanon County took their victory against Octorara Area in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 9-2 score. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
