Preview: Wesley Christian Circuit Riders vs. Moravian Prep Lions
Wesley Christian has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Moravian Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wesley Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 127th in Kentucky, while Moravian Prep is ranked first in North Carolina).
Wesley Christian pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy 74-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (62), Wesley Christian still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Moravian Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Saturday. They fell 62-51 to John Marshall. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Moravian Prep has scored all season.
Wesley Christian dropped their record down to 7-21-2 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Moravian Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.
Things could have been worse for Wesley Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 74-55 loss to Moravian Prep in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Wesley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
