Softball Recap: Graham-Kapowsin Find Success

While Graham-Kapowsin's victory against Sumner wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Spartans 5-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jessika Jennings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Jennings wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Izzy Vargas, who went 3-for-4 with one run. MaKena Rodgers was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Graham-Kapowsin's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Sumner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-7.

As of now, neither Graham-Kapowsin nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
