Basketball Recap: Duquoin Falls Short of Frankfort in the Playoffs

DuQuoin and Frankfort squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but DuQuoin had to settle for second. They fell to the Frankfort Redbirds 56-50. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Redbirds earlier this season, when they won 54-50.

It was another big night for Bailey Neibch, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds for Frankfort. Abby Casteel was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 11 points.

DuQuoin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-17 record this season. The win (which was Frankfort's fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-15.

DuQuoin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frankfort, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-44 loss against Harrisburg on the 20th.
