            Volleyball Recap: Dayton Dust Devils vs. Churchill County Greenwave        
        
		
        
        
            Dayton entered their  matchup against Churchill County  on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Dust Devils fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of  3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season,  with their most recent  loss being a  3-0  defeat  back in September.
 Dayton actually scored more points across those five sets (103-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 15-25, 20-25, 26-24,  15-13.
 MCKINLEE SMITH paced Dayton's offense, picking up 13 kills. SMITH got some help from  ALISI TULIMAFUA-CURRAN and her 21 assists.  ARACELI ACOSTA controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
 Leading Churchill County to victory were  Destinee Tapia and  Kalaya Downs.  Tapia  had 20  digs and one  assist, while  Downs  had ten  digs and two  aces. Those  20  digs gave  Tapia a new career-high.
Dayton suffered their first home  defeat, dropping their record down to 16-8. As for Churchill County, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record  this season.
 Dayton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  3-2  victory against Spring Creek on the 17th. As for Churchill County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  win against Lowry on the 17th.
