Football Recap: Prentiss Christian Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Newton County Academy

Prentiss Christian faced Newton County Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Saints were dealt a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Generals. Having soared to a lofty 32 points in the game before, the Saints' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Jack Criswell threw for 132 yards on only 11 passes. Carter Russell was his top target, picking up 90 receiving yards.

Prentiss Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Newton County Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
