Soccer Game Preview: Seguin vs. Burbank

The Seguin Matadors will venture away from home to take on the Burbank Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Seguin turned things around against Highlands on Friday. They came out on top against the Owls by a score of 4-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Matadors' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Burbank kept a clean sheet against Jefferson on Friday. They blew past the Mustangs 4-0. The result kept the Bulldogs happy, as they haven't lost a game since February 12th.

They hit Jefferson with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Samuel Olguin (2), Freddy Edenilson Castro Ramirez, and Israel Zapata.

Burbank has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those six contests. Seguin's win bumped their record up to 5-14-1.
