Softball Recap: Rayne Wolves vs. David Thibodaux Bulldogs
Rayne extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 5-11. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the David Thibodaux Bulldogs. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 15-9 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kirsten Thibodeaux made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for David Thibodaux, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.
On David Thibodaux's side, Mackenzie Chark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Chark has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Justice Chambers was incredible, firing off two home runs, three RBI, and one stolen base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrie Mouton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Coming up, Rayne will head out to face off against Westgate at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for David Thibodaux, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cecilia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
