Volleyball Recap: Oak Hills Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oak Hills had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Shadow Hills Knights on Wednesday. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2017.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-21, 21-25, 25-17.

Oak Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arianna Lopez led the charge by getting 28 digs and four assists. That's the most assists Lopez has posted over her last five games. Another player making a difference was Samantha Santiago, who had seven aces and three digs.

Oak Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

Oak Hills picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-9. As for Shadow Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Oak Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Sultana on the 15th. As for Shadow Hills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Palm Springs on the 15th.
