There's no place like home for Dexter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Woodland Cardinals on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Bearcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dexter had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20.

Karis Kennedy paced Dexter's offense, picking up 14 kills. Kennedy got some help from Brooklyn Goodman and her 20 assists. Klaire Essner controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Despite the loss, Woodland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ella Cook had 11 digs and one assist.

Dexter's victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2. As for Woodland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7-2.

Coming up, Dexter will head out to square off against Sikeston at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Central on the 23rd.
