Baseball Recap: Walter Panas' Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Walter Panas entered their tilt with Somers on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Tuskers. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tuskers, too.

Vinny Lugo tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nick DiMaso, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Garcia, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Walter Panas lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Walter Panas' record now sits at 5-3. As for Somers, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Walter Panas will square off against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Somers will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' match: after the Panthers face off against Pleasantville, they'll take on Somers again at 4:30 p.m. on May 8.
