Football Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View and Salem Hills squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mountain View had to settle for second. They came up short against the Skyhawks, falling 35-12. The Bruins have struggled against the Skyhawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Tate Johnson threw for 110 yards and one touchdown. Briggy Moses was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards. On the ground, Carter Vance rushed for 63 yards.

Ryder Hales was his usual excellent self, throwing for 185 yards and five TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes for Salem Hills. Those five passing touchdowns gave Hales a new career-high.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Salem Hills, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Mountain View does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Salem Hills, they will challenge Provo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Hales and Gehrig Orchard.
