Basketball Recap: Carter Comes Up Short

Carter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 75-55 to the Roane County Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Green Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 123rd).

Carter's loss dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Roane County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Coming up, Carter won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Austin-East at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Roane County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Farragut at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Roane County has won three straight at home, while Farragut won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
