Mishawaka Marian dropped their record down to 7-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the New Prairie Cougars, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered against the Cougars since April 22, 2019.

As for New Prairie, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For New Prairie's part, Colton Griffiths spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Griffiths has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jordan Davis was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Reed Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

While Mishawaka Marian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
