Basketball Game Preview: Wood River Wolverines vs. Burley Bobcats

The Wood River Wolverines will take on the Burley Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wood River has now lost 16 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 11.

Wood River is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Minico on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Wood River lost 57-31 to Minico. The Wolverines were down 45-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Wood River saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tony Ambriz posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Burley came up short against Twin Falls on Thursday, falling 62-40. The Bobcats have struggled against the Bruins recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Wood River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Burley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
