Baseball Recap: Liberty North Comes Up Short

Lee's Summit North hit Liberty North with a five-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 5-4. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 9-1.

Liberty North saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Gamet, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that Gamet has snagged this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty North and nudges their season record down to 13-5. As for Lee's Summit North, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14.

While Liberty North had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
