Softball Game Preview: Ford Panthers vs. Caddo Mills Foxes

The Ford Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Caddo Mills Foxes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Ford took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Community by a score of 5-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Caddo Mills hadn't beaten Farmersville on the road since March 29, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Foxes had just enough and edged out the Farmers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Foxes have posted against the Farmers since March 29, 2021.

Ford's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Caddo Mills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13-1.

Ford beat Caddo Mills 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
