Basketball Recap: Douglass Falls Despite Big Games from Wyatt Moore and Kemper Cox

Douglass was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eureka Tornadoes.

Despite the defeat, Douglass had strong showings from Kemper Cox, who posted 15 points, and Wyatt Moore, who scored 12 points. The dominant performance gave Cox a new career-high in points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eureka to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyson Coon, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. Coon is becoming a predictor of Eureka's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 3-1 (and 1-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Hare, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Douglass' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Eureka, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.

Douglass didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-27 defeat against Medicine Lodge on the 14th. As for Eureka, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-35 victory against Bluestem on the 14th.
