Preview: Indian Springs COYOTES vs. Fontana Steelers

The Indian Springs COYOTES will face off against the Fontana Steelers at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Thursday, Indian Springs was able to grind out a solid win over Rubidoux, taking the game 73-64.

Adorian Cherry and Jordan Culberson were among the main playmakers for Indian Springs as the former scored 25 points along with six assists and the latter dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cherry has scored at least a third of Indian Springs' points. Another player making a difference was Nubian Nelson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Fontana had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past Kaiser 61-38. Given Fontana's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while Kaiser is ranked 1239th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Indian Springs' victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Fontana, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Indian Springs couldn't quite finish off Fontana in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 and fell 55-52. Can Indian Springs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
