Softball Recap: Rowan County Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Greenup County

Rowan County faced Greenup County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Musketeers by a score of 9-5. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kassi Perkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Perkins was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Rowan County got a big performance out of Lauryn Eastham, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Malana Hamm was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs.

Rowan County's victory bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Greenup County, their loss dropped their record down to 24-7.

As of now, neither Rowan County nor the Musketeers have any future games scheduled.
