Basketball Game Preview: Richland Colts vs. Ellendale Cardinals

The Richland Colts will challenge the Ellendale Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richland is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Richland is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 1, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Maple River, falling 59-35. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Colts came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 82nd in North Dakota, while the Eagles are ranked 230th in Minnesota).

Meanwhile, Ellendale didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter on Monday, but they still walked away with a 33-27 win.

Ellendale's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12. As for Richland, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
