Volleyball Recap: Keystone Heights Starts off Right with Win over Crescent City

Keystone Heights gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Crescent City Raiders 3-2. This was payback for the Indians, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Keystone Heights took Crescent City into a fifth set where they got it done with a nine-point win. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 22-25, 15-6.

Keystone Heights got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleigh Marquart out in front who had 31 assists and six aces. That's the most assists Marquart has posted since back in September of 2024. Kadence Massey was another key player, getting eight aces, six kills, and six digs.

They weren't the only good server: Keystone Heights was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. They served nine more aces than Crescent City's also-impressive total of 11.

Keystone Heights didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bradford on the 21st. As for Crescent City, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Peniel Baptist Academy on the 21st.
