Baseball Recap: Pembroke Hill Takes a Loss

Pembroke Hill entered their contest against Rockhurst on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Raiders fell just short of the Hawklets by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raiders have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Sohan Sanjanwala was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Brendan Sotta was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Pembroke Hill and nudges their season record down to 20-6-1. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Rockhurst, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pembroke Hill will head out to take on Butler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockhurst, they will venture away from home to face off against Liberty North at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Hawklets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
