Recap: Manitou Springs Mustangs vs. Colorado Springs Christian Lions
The Manitou Springs Mustangs lost to the Colorado Springs Christian Lions back in January of 2023, but the Manitou Springs Mustangs didn't allow the Colorado Springs Christian Lions the same satisfaction on Tuesday. Manitou Springs came out on top against Colorado Springs Christian by a score of 54-46.
Despite the defeat, Colorado Springs Christian had strong showings from Miguel Cota-cordova, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, and Jace Velasquez, who scored 14 points. The game was Cota-cordova's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Levi Williams, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
The win got Manitou Springs back to even at 4-4. As for Colorado Springs Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Manitou Springs won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pueblo Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Pueblo Centennial is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rye at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rye focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday.
