Volleyball Recap: Escondido Comes Up Short

Escondido was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Mission Hills Grizzlies. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Grizzlies from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-11, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Escondido still got an impressive performance from Quinton Tam, who had 21 digs. Tam is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games he's played.

Mission Hills got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Buhler out in front who had five digs and three aces. Jake Larsen was another key player, getting 16 digs and one assist.

Escondido's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Mission Hills, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4.

Escondido didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against San Marcos on the 16th. As for Mission Hills, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Oceanside on the 15th.
