Aidyn Davis leads Lassiter to victory over Johns Creek

Recap: Lassiter Trojans vs. Johns Creek Gladiators

The Lassiter Trojans lost to the Johns Creek Gladiators back in January of 2023, but the Lassiter Trojans didn't allow the Johns Creek Gladiators the same satisfaction on Friday. Lassiter rang in the new year with a 50-39 win over Johns Creek. Given Lassiter's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while Johns Creek is ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lassiter can attribute much of their success to Aidyn Davis, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Jaden Emmanuelli was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Lassiter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Johns Creek, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Lassiter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Walton at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Walton will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Johns Creek, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Alpharetta at 7:30 p.m.
