Softball Recap: Robinson Has No Trouble Against Tampa Bay Tech

Robinson won the last time they faced Tampa Bay Tech and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights blew past the Titans 17-7. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won seven matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jasmine Welch was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Isabella 'Bella' Villanti was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dalia 'Mae' Campbell, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tampa Bay Tech only posted an OBP of .400.

Robinson's record now sits at 7-10. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Robinson will host Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will head out to take on Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
