The Montwood Rams will take on the Hanks Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Montwood barely beat Americas the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Montwood was the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Americas on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.
Montwood got a massive performance out of Jaeda Quinones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Quinones launched this season. Mia Telles was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Montwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hanks had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with a 12-1 win.
Dreana Ballesteros and Audrey Melendez did most of the damage at the plate: Ballesteros scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Melendez scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Ballesteros a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Amberly Mercado, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Hanks' victory bumped their record up to 11-4-1. As for Montwood, their win bumped their record up to 16-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Montwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .391. However, it's not like Hanks struggles in that department as they've averaged .405. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Montwood might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Hanks when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will Montwood have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
