Soccer Game Preview: Canton South vs. Northwestern

The Canton South Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Northwestern Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton South will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Canton South's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They put the hurt on Fairless with a sharp 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for Canton South, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northwestern earned a 2-0 victory over Waynedale on Saturday. The win continues a trend for Northwestern in their matchups with Waynedale: they've now won six in a row.

Keagan Kostohryz and Mario Rodriguez scored both of Northwestern's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Canton South's victory bumped their record up to 11-1-1. As for Northwestern, their win bumped their record up to 8-3-1.

Canton South came out on top in a nail-biter against Northwestern when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
