Basketball Recap: Morgan City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hanson Memorial last Tuesday, Morgan City came back down to earth. The Morgan City Tigers were beaten by the Terrebonne Tigers 60-23 on Friday. Morgan City has struggled against Terrebonne recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Terrebonne was led to victory by Amyja Clark and Akaja McGuire. Clark went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals, while McGuire dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. That's the most steals McGuire has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was J'Amber Navarre, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Morgan City now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Terrebonne, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4.

Morgan City will square off against St. Charles Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Terrebonne, they will face off against South Terrebonne at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
