The Flint Southwestern Academy Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Frankenmuth 82-40. Flint Southwestern Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frankenmuth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan McNiel, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that McNiel posted two or more blocks. Carson Knoll was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Flint Southwestern Academy bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Frankenmuth, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-4.
Flint Southwestern Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Beecher at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Beecher presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Flint Southwestern Academy in Michigan (Beecher is ranked 172nd, while Flint Southwestern Academy is ranked 623rd). As for Frankenmuth, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Garber at 7:00 p.m.
