Softball Recap: Stevens Point Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Stevens Point had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Pulaski Red Raiders 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sophia Abundiz made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Abundiz was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Jordan Roth was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kali Standifer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Stevens Point kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Stevens Point's record is now 9-2. As for Pulaski, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
