Volleyball Recap: Brenham Cubs vs. A&M Consolidated Tigers
After flying high against Huntsville last Tuesday, Brenham came back down to earth. The Brenham Cubs fell just short of the A&M Consolidated Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Cubs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Brenham took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 15-13.
Zoey Montgomery had an outrageously good game for A&M Consolidated as she had 25 digs. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Brenham has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 22-17 record this season. As for A&M Consolidated, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-10.
Brenham will play host again on Tuesday to welcome Rudder, where the match is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. Brenham is facing Rudder at the right time seeing as Rudder is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for A&M Consolidated, they will venture away from home to square off against Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A&M Consolidated is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
