Baseball Recap: Dwyer Gets the Win

Dwyer took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against American Heritage, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Stallions 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Tyler Thrush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Owen Hewitt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Michael Fredel also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Dwyer's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for American Heritage, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Dwyer didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Palm Beach Central on the 19th. As for American Heritage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against West Boca Raton on the 19th.
