Preview: Wadley Bulldogs vs. Beulah Bobcats

The Wadley Bulldogs will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Beulah Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Hopefully Wadley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Saturday.

On Saturday, Wadley came up short against Handley and fell 60-51. While losing is never fun, Wadley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Handley is ranked 153rd).

Despite the defeat, Wadley saw an underclassman step up: Frisco Robertson scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robertson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tedrick Burns, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Beulah was able to grind out a solid win over Dadeville last Thursday, taking the game 63-50.

Wadley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Beulah, they pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Wadley skirted past Beulah 61-58 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wadley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
