Volleyball Recap: Sweetwater Falls Despite Big Games from Sergio Salazar and Kalvin Arcedera

Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mojave Rattlers.

Despite the loss, Sweetwater had strong showings from Kalvin Arcedera, who had 17 digs, and Sergio Salazar, who had 29 assists and seven digs. Salazar is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 12 every time he's taken the court this season.

Mojave can attribute much of their success to Aaron Bagalawis, who had 29 assists and five digs.

Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Mojave, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Sweetwater has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Montgomery on the 9th. As for Mojave, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Cimarron-Memorial on the 5th.
