Axtell skates past Southwest with ease

Recap: Axtell Wildcats vs. Southwest Roughriders

The Axtell Wildcats entered their tilt with the Southwest Roughriders with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Axtell simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Southwest 69-38 at home. The score was close at the half, but Axtell pulled away in the second half with 44 points.

Axtell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Morgan, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Morgan hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Cayson Havranek, who scored 16 points along with three steals.

Despite the defeat, Southwest had strong showings from Houston Billeter, who scored 12 points, and Trenton Williams, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Hunter Blume was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Axtell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
