Football Recap: Marsing Huskies vs. Melba Mustangs
Marsing extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They lost 34-13 to the Melba Mustangs. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Smith, who picked up 128 receiving yards. Marsing also got a significant boost from Noah Shelton, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.
Marsing didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Spencer Vanosdall and Bridon McIntyre.
As for Melba, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games.
Rhett Franklin was his usual excellent self, rushing for 157 yards and three scores while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 81 receiving yards and one touchdown. Melba is 2-1 when Franklin posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-5 otherwise.
As of now, neither Marsing nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
