Loyola Academy and Montini Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Ramblers will face off against the Broncos at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Loyola Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Montini Catholic posted their closest win since October 7th on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Providence Catholic 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Montini Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-16, 25-20.

Montini Catholic's win bumped their record up to 20-12. As for Loyola Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-15.

Loyola Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Montini Catholic when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
